Jose Munoz

I am a Ph.D. student in the Horticulture and Agronomy Graduate Group at UC Davis. I received my undergraduate degree in Plant Science and my master’s degree in Agriculture from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. My background is in viticulture, with particular experience in table grapes and grape rootstocks. My research interests focus on developing improved table grape varieties and rootstocks that are better adapted to drought conditions. In the Diaz-Garcia Lab, I research grapevine root system architecture under water-deficit conditions and identify genomic regions associated with these traits. In my free time, I enjoy photography, hiking, traveling, going to the beach, driving sports cars, and spending time with cats.
